Meet Our Executive Board - Robert Gephardt

As we head further into the celebration of our 45th anniversary, we’re introducing you to some of our newest executive board members. You’ll have a chance to get to know the six directors that have joined us over the last year, why Ignite’s mission speaks to them, and what they hope for the youth we work with. 

Today, we’re introducing you to Robert Gephardt, Senior Research Analyst and Energy Sector Team Leader on Neuberger Berman's Non-Investment Grade platform, who joined us in August of 2021. Read on for his responses:

What brought you to serve on Ignite’s board?

I've been involved with Ignite in various capacities since 2011 and jumped at the opportunity to be able to help the organization in a more strategic role. The organization has set its sights on some amazing goals under the leadership of Stephanie Piccirilli and I am excited to be able to help guide her and her amazing staff on that journey.

What is it about the cause of youth homelessness specifically that drove you to dedicate your time?

In short, I think it is unacceptable when youth do not have the resources and support systems to have an opportunity to achieve their dreams. Through no fault of their own, the youth who experience homelessness battle headwinds that make the foundational activities of adolescence difficult and their goals nearly impossible to achieve. Supporting these individuals and helping them maximise their potential makes our society more complete.

Finally, what are some of the things that you hope for the youth we work with?

I hope each youth that Ignite serves is able to leave the program feeling more confident, empowered and supported than when they started.
