Ignite Icons Series - Bruce Pedigo
Even after we’ve wrapped up our 45th anniversary, we’re continuing the Ignite Icons series - highlighting some of the most prominent figures that have been part of the Ignite community over the years.
As one of the longest running Ignite Executive Board members, serving for a whopping 26 years, Bruce Pedigo has been the life of Ignite and the executive board for decades, guiding the organization through massive fundraising events, brand overhauls, and immense agency growth. As the resident landscaping expert, Bruce has spearheaded countless volunteer events and work days in the Belfort House garden, working with several of our youth personally to teach them the art of gardening. Because of him, the garden is one of the highlights of Belfort, and produces apples, watermelons, tomatoes, and more for our youth every spring and summer. Bruce still regularly comes to volunteer his time in the garden, getting it ready for the winter season and beyond.
Even though his time on our board has come to an end, his dedication to the organization will allow us to continue to expand our mission and grow to serve youth throughout all of Chicago, beyond just the South Side of the city, and we’re so thankful for him and his many years spent as part of the Ignite community!
